Our Services: Counselor on Duty
When you arrive at the Center, you will be asked to complete basic paperwork. The COD will then be available at the Counseling Center, by phone or in-person, weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., to assist students, faculty, staff and parents/family members with an immediate crisis, brief consult or to provide basic Counseling Center information. You may access these services by calling or walking into the Counseling Center inside the Veitch Student Center.
When you arrive at the Center, the COD will ask you to complete some basic paperwork and will be available to see you for a short consultation (typically 10-15 minutes) unless otherwise indicated. These consultations are not therapy sessions, but rather brief assessments focused on insuring safety and often for making appropriate appointments or referrals to the community.
24-Hour Hotline
After-hours, mental health therapists are available for crisis counseling and consultation by phone at 951-827-5531 (951-UCR-TALK or 2-TALK from campus phones), 24 hours daily.
